Anne has always had an eye for what makes a home feel special. Originally from London, she spent part of her early life in North Africa, where she developed an appreciation for craftsmanship, color, texture, and the beauty of things made by hand.
She began her creative career designing jewelry in London before moving into interior design and home staging in San Francisco. Her varied background has given her an instinct for mixing styles, periods and influences, and a fondness for spaces that feel collected rather than overly considered.
Through Rug and Chair, Anne has spent years helping people see the possibilities in a home. For her, staging has always been about showing how life might unfold there — how rooms could be used, how people might gather, and what makes a space feel welcoming and alive.
Forward Home grew naturally from that experience, but with a more personal focus. Rather than imagining how someone might live in a home, Anne works to understand how her clients actually want to live: what matters to them, what makes them comfortable and what they want their home to give them.
Her approach is thoughtful and unformulaic. She believes good design should make life easier and more enjoyable, not impose a particular look or set of rules. Some homes call for calm and simplicity; others for color, character and a little exuberance. Most benefit from a bit of both.
Above all, Anne believes a home should be somewhere people can relax, enjoy themselves, welcome others and feel entirely at ease.
That, to her, is the art of feeling at home.
